Losing my mom, the most cherished person in my life, felt like the end of the world. Little did I know that amidst the heartache and grief, a new chapter was quietly beginning.

When I lost my mom back in 2018, it crushed me. It turned my world upside down. I experienced extreme pain, sadness, anxiety, and fear. All of a sudden, my coping mechanisms ceased to function, and so did I. I was lost, vulnerable, exposed. It felt as if my world had ended.

And it did, in a way.

Through grief and pain, I learned perhaps the most important lesson of all: life is far too precious to keep living on autopilot.

You know how they always say that you need to hit rock bottom to understand just how necessary a change is. Losing my mom was such a turning point for me. This is where my journey of self-discovery and healing began.

This healing path was tumultuous, to say the least. It required turning my gaze inward and looking my shadows right in the eye. And it also required radical steps.

In order for something new to come, something old must go. Therefore, I decided to empty my cup. I got divorced, quit my dead-end job, and left Berlin, where I had been living for 10 years. I replaced those with choices that felt closer to my heart. I started my own business and moved to my favorite place in the world, Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands in Spain.

With 10 years of experience as a project manager, mentor, and career coach, it felt natural to start my own practice as a life coach. However, as I hit the limitations of my therapy, I realized that working with consciousness alone was not enough.

That’s because the rational mind has its limitations. If we really want to implement radical changes in our life, it has to happen in the body. The self-discovery journey happens through the body. Self-awareness happens in the body. Self-love is only possible when your body is a safe space to feel everything that resurfaces.

That’s when I decided to search for a somatic tool to pair with my coaching services.

This is how, at 34, I took myself on an intense journey of discovering my body and my mind’s relation to it. I have tried basically everything that comes to mind when speaking about working with the subconscious. However, one method felt closer to my heart than others: breathwork.

Then it hit me.

It was not the first time I was introduced to breathwork. Back when I was 11 years old, I was seeing a therapist who taught me mindful breathing. It has been my anchor for many years. Until I was hijacked by the world of overachieving and goal-setting, and I forgot about the practice.

Now, years later, I was rediscovering this simple, safe, and effective self-regulation tool.

Breathwork helped me switch from rational thinking to feeling. From doing to being. It laid a solid foundation in my body, extended my window of tolerance, and built resilience against emotional triggers.

Another effect that it had on me was the expansion of consciousness, which led to developing open-hearted presence and loving awareness. These days, I find it easy to stay calm and compassionate in the midst of emotional turmoil.

After becoming a certified breathwork facilitator with InnerCamp, I have integrated the wise learnings of breathwork into my sessions, creating a comprehensive experience that involves working with consciousness and subconsciousness to maximize the benefits of both.

The best thing is that, as a holistic life coach and breathwork facilitator, I can teach you all that. For you to liberate yourself from the past stories and patterns. For you to live a meaningful life of your dreams here and now.
